The Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park in Abruzzo

The Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park in Abruzzo was established in 1991. The mostly mountainous terrain includes the Gran Sasso d’Italia massif and the Monti della Laga mountain range. The park covers the provinces of L’Aquila, Ascoli Piceno, Pescara, Rieti and Teramo. The main road route that leads through the park has some spectacular views of both plant and animal life and runs through the territory that borders the Gran Sasso massif and the Laga range, connecting the Provinces of L’Aquila and Teramo.
