Comunal Facilities

The Grotta del Saraceno Holiday centre has a shopping area with a mini-market, greengrocers, sandwich and delicatessen bar, bazaar, clothes and accessories, hairdresser and beautician, photographer and laundry ( also self service); The sports facilities include a five-a-side football pitch, volleyball court, bowls green and fitness area. The entertainment facilities include a covered arena, a children’s play ground, a video arcade, a disco and a large, shaded car park.

The most important feature of the Grotta del Saraceno holiday village is its choice of beaches.

The beaches

The guests at the Grotta del saraceno holiday village can enjoy two types of beach life. There is a wide, sandy beach equipped with beach umbrellas, bar and self service facilities, roller skate and canoe hire and refreshment and fitness area under the shade of the pine trees. Access to this beach is provided by the panoramic stairway (100 steps) or by the shuttle service.

There is also a selection of little bays accessible directly from the beach or from the paths that lead along the headland.

Restaurants

The main dining and refreshment facility is situated at the centre of the Grotta del Saraceno holiday village, overlooking the bay. The restaurant is open daily at lunch time and in evening and offers fish and meat dishes with table service and self service. For guests who wish to dine in the comfort of their accommodation take-away meals are also available. There is a pizza restaurant, with a wood oven, situated next to the main restaurant. Here guests can choose from a take-away or table service.

Bar

The Grotta del Saraceno holiday village has four bars.

The Bar centrale is close to the restaurant and the arena, it overlooks the bay with a splendid view of the Adriatic sea. It has a wide veranda, popular with guests, and is ideal for breakfast, a quick coffee, a snack or an evening drink.

The “Grottino” is half way down the scenic stairway that descends, along the headland, to the beach. It takes its name from the cave known as the “Grotta del Saraceno”. It has two terraces and is the perfect place for an evening drink under the stars. Its position, on the way to the beach, makes it a great choice for a cold snack.

The beach Bar is further along the stairway and mainly deals with the bathers and beach facilities. Guests can have a snack at this friendly kiosk in their costume, or enjoy the cold, self service snacks and lunches at tables under the shade of the sun umbrellas on the beach

In the evening it offers refreshment from the dancing in the nearby disco. 

The “Caribe” bar has a separate function. This bar is part of the residence of the same name situated within the Grotta del Saraceno holiday village. At certain times of the day, for example at breakfast, it is reserved for the guests staying in the residence but apart from these brief moments its wide terrace is always open to guests looking for a cool, relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to its comfort and size it’s sometimes the venue for theme evenings and parties.

Entertainment

The entertainment at the Grotta del Saraceno holiday village is organised by a staff of professionals. Always present but never intrusive, the entertainment staff organise and promote events and activities for all ages. Evening shows, line dancing, fitness sessions, sport tournaments

(football,volleyball, etc), games tournaments ( cards, pool, table tennis, etc) baby club and beach games are just some of the daily events that are organised for guests. There are also seasonal events such as musicals, the Miss Grotta del Saraceno beauty contest and the “Grottiardi” (team competition set over a number of days), just to name a few. These events take advantage of many of the village facilities including the covered arena, the children’s playground, the fitness area, the sports pitches and the disco.
