Maiella National Park was established in 1991 and is one of the three national parks of Abruzzo. The highest peak in the park area is that of Mount Amaro(2.793 metres). The park is between the provinces of Aquila, Chieti and Pescara.
TEXTILE, WOODEN AND
Different nature reserves have been included inside the National park, such as the Monte Rotondo Reserve, the Maiella Orientale Reserve, the Valle dell’Orfento Reserve and the Lama Bianca di Sant’Eufemia Reserve in Maiella. In the towns inside the national park, craftsmanship is very developed. In fact it is easy to find textile, wooden and stone works.
